happy early 4th of july, everyone! (:
headed over to the Singapore American School just now to celebrate an early Independence Day! no, none of us are americans, but hey. carnivals &fireworks are always a good combination (:

also spent a good friday night at bala! and even more so cos sab's back, sab's secondary sch friends shimei &the rest went, my awesome girls from secondary sch went as well, abraham &hayden were there, as well as the usual kai, boonyi, jori, alvin (not so usual), xinyu, michlim &ben (: ching popped over to surprise us, but we spotted her at the carpark &decided to jump out in front of her car, only for her to reverse and hit the parking lot curb in shock HAHAHA. i'm sorry, babe! :P

this is why my mondays are always so blue.
my weekends are just too awesome :P

"I guess what I’m saying here is f-ck Sunday. I am done having a second weekend day that I can never fully enjoy, one that serves as nothing more than a paper-thin buffer between Saturday and real life. I insist that, from now on, all weekends be three days long, so we can just reserve all our day hatred for Monday and Monday alone. It’s ugly and thinks it’s cute, and we never liked it anyway."
- Chelsea Fagan, Sunday is Evil

HAHAHA.
this is probably the best thing i've seen the whole day.

monday has been pretty blue for me, especially with the way the weekend ended, which resulted in me being pretty grumpy :/ sorry to my partners who had to face my wrath :/

on a (hopefully) better note, happy tuesday!
hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

the weekend has gone too quickly,
though it's definitely been a fruitful, busy one (:

#1 staff welfare day on friday!
we went bowling, and even though i pretty much suck at the sport &havent bowled since primary school, i had really awesome colleagues who took the time &effort to cheer me on &teach me the ropes. i must have spent the full 3 hours smiling &laughing, cos my cheekbones were aching like crazy by the time 4.30pm came about. my lane played three full games pretty quickly, so three of us snuck off to the arcade room to play daytona where i won (purely by luck, honestly) both times! HOHO. perhaps i should suggest a daytona race-off for the next staff welfare event :P

#2 meet up with my touch rugby girls (:
finally met my awesome girls for dinner on friday night, and while we took the time to catch up with each other, it's definitely safe to say that no one has really changed. and it's times like these when i thank God for helping me make certain good decisions in my life (:

#3 bala with boonyi, esther, kai, kane &ming en!
WE ALSO SPOTTED A COUGAR TRYING TO SEDUCE (?) BOONYI ACROSS THE BAR. hahahahha.

#4 harry potter exhibit with my loves <3
maybe my expectations were too high, but it wasn't really fantastic. the company definitely was, but the exhibition was pretty disappointing. perhaps i'm not that big of a fan.

#5 had a belated celebration with the family at carnivore! HAPPY BELATED FATHER'S DAY, DADDY! (:

#6 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BENJAMIN NG aka DROOPY DOG :P

school reopens tmr! :/
i should go get tons of sleep before tomorrow or i'd probably head home &concuss at 9pm again :P

have a good week ahead, people! <3

"The moral of these many, albeit stereotypical, stories is: don’t be afraid of the big bad wolves. They can huff and puff and blow your eardrums out but at the end of it all, when you really think about it, you just might feel empowered enough to take a life-changing leap."
- Jillian Bevacqua, We All Just Need To Get Yelled At

Thursday, June 21, 2012

it's been a crazy, hectic week,
but thank God for friends who do the most retarded things which ultimately make you laugh despite all the tiredness:

#1 two came over after swimming &decided to hide my sister's soft toys, bolsters, pillows, blanket, piggy bank &aircon remote controller. we then left a 'ransom' note on her bare, empty bed, requesting for money for each item she manages to find.

#2 another came over for dinner, and one proceeded to kidnap my phone to coerce me to join them downstairs for dinner. they lost. HOHO.

#3 we went to island creamery and bought a tub of reverso &a mudpie. needless to say, the four of us almost died, but not before one proclaimed to the scoopy to let us keep the dirty tub, because apparently, my sister "likes to lick the tub clean". HAHAHA.

#4 $2 nuggets! not something i could digest, but we went anyway, because it was the last day those nuggets would be $2. HOW COME I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THIS GLORIOUS DEAL BEFORE YESTERDAY?!! i need to come out from under my rock. but anyway, we also went ahead to take crazy pictures with our childhood statues before KAP redevelops :(

happy thursday (and friday) everyone! (:

“...we should be remembered for the things we do. The things we do are the most important things of all. They are more important than what we say or what we look like. The things we do outlast our mortality. The things we do are like monuments that people build to honour heroes after they've died. They're like the pyramids that the Egyptians built to honour the Pharaohs. Only instead of being made out of stone, they're made out of the memories people have of you. That's why your deeds are like your monuments. Built with memories instead of with stone.”
― R.J. Palacio

it's crazy how a book can pierce your tear ducts so easily that you feel you can't put the book down, even though it was originally meant for the flight to melbs. i can't say this book has changed my life forever, neither can i say that i will live my life any differently after reading it, but hey. it's a good book, and it's ability to take me out of my world &place me into another 'dimension' so to speak, is still amazing to me.

countdown to melbs: 4 hours & 15 minutes! <3

countdown to melbs: 2 more days!

"Loving your family is also about hating your family. The two are inextricably linked. You can see that now. You can’t love a group of people that much without some hate bleeding into it. Just don’t let it bleed over too much and always remember this: Nobody’s going to love you like they do.

Nobody."

- Ryan O'Connell, How To Love Your Family

“You matter as much as the things that matter to you. And I got so backwards trying to matter to him. All this time, there were real things to care about: real, good people who care about me, and this place. It's so easy to get stuck. You just get caught in being something, being special or cool or whatever, to the point where you don't even know why you need it; you just think you do.”
― John Green, An Abundance of Katherines

(yes, i've pretty much been plowing through most, if not all, of John Green's amazing books.)

shall start writing my packing list for melbs lest i forget anything, plus, i still have yet to get my visa done :/ well done, adeline. well done.
