en route;

happy lunar new year! (:
CNY day -1: woke up at 4.30am &left the house at 5.30am for an epic, long journey into Malaysia, Ipoh. thankfully, we skipped the jam &made to Ipoh at 11.30am! whoohoo! dad's driving skills are awesome. we then spent the day visiting dad's friends &doing a bit of shopping (3 PAIRS OF SHOES BWAHAHA) before heading back to have dinner with my grandma (:
CNY day zero: reunion dinner day!
you CANNOT go into Ipoh without going for DIM SUM at least once in the morning BWAHAHA. except we ate too much :/ i bought another 2 pairs of shoes, followed by our second food fest after dimsum. 20 pieces of kaya balls, cranberry waffles (WHICH I NEVER GOT TO EAT. those greedy people devoured the waffles before i could even get a nibble out of it), unagi takoyaki (how can you resist these delights which you cannot find in sg?!), sotong goreng, wedges, samosas &curry puffs :9
AND ALL THESE WERE EATEN BEFORE REUNION DINNER. reunion dinner was at 8.15pm. we ate these at about 6pm. HAHA. this is what happens when you enter the land of food :P
CNY day one:
we couldnt celebrate chinese new year this year, although it didnt stop some of us from gathering anyway. dad brought us on our regular 'sightseeing' tour around the little town area to find his old school &the old house, then headed up to the cemetery to spend time with my grandpa, before trooping back into the city to find some relatives over mushroom soup, pepsi floats, chocolate cereal cookies &stolen bites from their bowls of tom yum soup & chicken dishes, before heading home to have beef rendang with sticky rice.
this is why my relatives said i've gotten fatter :( THERE'S TOO MUCH FOOD AROUND.
CNY day two: back to sg! we left after a nice brunch, only to snack more in the car with raisin breads, an enormous bag of twisties, a can of pringles (during the jam at the m'sia immigration) and orange juice, before having ENAQ prata &ikan bilis mee goreng for dinner.
THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH FOOD. hahahaha.
more updates soon!
i need sleep.
(omggggg why are the pictures suddenly so enormous)
